Emmanuel Bible Fellowship
Role: Lead Pastor
Emmanuel Bible Fellowship (EBF) is calling a Lead Pastor who will shepherd our congregation in pursuit of our Mission: “One Family, Living on Mission, to Love God and Serve the World.” This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) pastoral position.
About This Position
Our desire is to glorify God by having a Lead Pastor who is focused on developing lifelong, fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We are seeking a pastor who will embrace the strengths God has built into our church congregation and our passion for investing in families, as well as a pastor who will seek to mature the body in order that Christ might be further formed in us. EBF is seeking a Lead Pastor who will be led by the Spirit to move our body toward what God would have us be as He seeks to reach our community through us. We desire God’s chosen vessel to equip our body for the work He has for us as a church within the city we’ve been placed. But ultimately, we seek a pastor who will lead us into greater intimacy with Jesus Christ, knowing that as we fall more in love with our Savior, He will move us into His activity around us and glorify Himself through us.
In this position, you will preach, teach, exhort, equip and shepherd adults with these purposes in mind. In cooperation with the elders, you will be responsible for the overall present ministry and future direction of the church. You will have general oversight of EBF, acting as a catalyst for the direction of the church and shepherding the leaders of existing ministries and programs. You will supervise the office and pastoral staff, as well as train and equip the elders. Along with pastors, elders and ministry leaders, you also will seek to identify giftedness within the EBF body and train them to serve in various ministries.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree in theology, divinity or related field is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Lead / Senior Pastor and experience leading a ministry with multiple staff is desired, preferably with a church of comparable size.
- Align with the EBF values and statement of belief (http://ebfolympia.com/who-we-are/our-values).
Located in Olympia, Washington, EBF serves one of the most unchurched communities in the State and works in partnership with other local pastors to seek revival for Thurston County. Our church has a history of strong expository preaching with practical application, as well as services that feature a contemporary worship style. Conservatively, our average attendance is 400 people during two Sunday services, not including those who participate primarily in mid-week programming. Our congregation reflects a healthy mix of all age groups, with a strong emphasis on families and a thriving children’s/youth program. Our families include a blend of public, private and home-schooled students. The congregation also has a strong military presence, both active duty and retired.
