Greetings EBF family,
Undoubtedly you have heard that our “stay at home” orders have been extended into May now! However, we are still the church and although we are not able to meet face to face, we wanted to give you some updates and important information about next week. Our desire is to stay connected as we remember the passion of Christ and move toward celebrating His resurrection.
First, we will be posting a daily devotional on our website and Facebook pages to help us focus on Christ as the week progresses. Along with each devotional there will be a short video clip by some excellent theologians that we are praying you will find informative and helpful.
Second, Lonna Hocker, our Children’s Ministry Director and Mike Keeling, one of our Elders who many of you know affectionately as “Mr. Mike”, will be posting some things on both our Facebook and website just for our kids to help them be able to focus on and understand the passion week of Jesus and his resurrection.
Third, we will be posting messages for Good Friday and Easter, and we are working toward including some music and worship in these events as well. In preparation for Good Friday, if you are able, we are asking for you to gather the elements you would need to have communion as a family.
Fourth, we want thank-you for your faithful and generous giving. We know that your giving is an act of worship and it such a joy and encouragement to see how God has moved you to continue to express your love and adoration for him in this very tangible way. YOU are a blessing to our church family.
Finally, please send us a one-minute video off your phone of your testimony about how Jesus has changed your life. Paul told the church in Thessalonica,“ Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” We are people of HOPE! We want to use these testimonies to encourage one another and this is a time when we can all use some encouragement. Please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Right now we are the church scattered, not gathered, but we are still the church. We are precious and loved by our Lord Jesus Christ.
God bless you as you continue to look to our Lord during this historic season of life.
