Growing up in Southern California, Doug and Debbie were both blessed in that their family’s relationship to God through Jesus Christ was a priority that they saw lived out. As a result, they both came to faith in Christ as kids and grew up attending the same church, where they “met” in high school. 

They enjoy building relational bridges with people who don’t yet know Christ; relationships that are strong enough to carry the weight of the gospel. Doug thrives on telling people about Jesus, communicating the Word, and prayer. So, he rides (bicycling) with others, he keep bees with others, he coaches, whatever and wherever, all to find ways to associate with those who are searching for meaning in life and praying that somehow God will open the door for a conversation that can change their eternity by introducing them to Jesus. 

Doug loves to ride his bike. But on his days off he likes to bake, hunt, fish, do woodwork, cook, and keep bees. Above all else Doug and Debbie's greatest joy comes from seeing God at work and being used by Him for His glory.

Justin started at EBF in June of 2021 right after graduating from Moody Bible Institute with a B.A. in Biblical Studies/Pastoral Ministry. Jamie, his wife, also graduated from Moody with her B.A. in Pre-Counseling. Growing up in Sacramento, CA, Justin was blessed to be raised by Christian parents. His dad led him to the Lord at a young age, and it was the gift of godly parents, godly friends, and godly youth leaders that really helped form him as a follower of Jesus. Justin’s call to ministry came in high school when his youth pastor took him under his wing; he took him on hospital visits, taught him how to prepare a Bible message, taught him how to teach the Bible, and gave him much rebuke for the silly and immature comments that came out of his mouth far too often.

As a youth pastor now, Justin loves doing the things that his youth pastor did with him. He loves disciple-making, teaching, a seeing all people grow in their delight for the Lord.

After three years at Emmanuel, Justin and Jamie now have a beautiful little girl, named Eden. Justin is working on his Master of Divinity through Reformed Theological Seminary, and Jamie is seeking to get certified in Biblical Counseling.
